As our nickname, the “collaboration generation”, suggests, constant and instantaneous communication is key to most businesses today. This demand for persistent coordination is bringing collaborative technology to the forefront in 2017. Although there are already a few forms of this technology currently being used, new competitors, such as Microsoft, will come around this year and the expected advances to this technology is going to be revolutionary! However, collaboration with coworkers isn’t the only type of collaborating coming to town in 2017. The advances expected for virtual desktops, more commonly known as “the cloud”, will allow access to ANYTHING from ALL of your devices. The cloud is no longer just for pictures and music!
One of the most influential technological developments we will see push its way onto the scene in 2017 is wireless ear buds. The buzz over the iPhone 7 in 2016 focused mostly on the missing headphone jack, but the fight to take over this new Bluetooth ear bud market is all 2017’s game. The capability Apple has to completely shift the market in whichever direction it wants is threatening to competitors, but amazing for tech junkies who want groundbreaking technology. Apple proved they aren’t afraid to be trendsetters when they released their wireless Airpods in order to work alongside the headphone jack-less iPhone 7. Apple’s competitors are ready to step into the ring in 2017 and give Apple a run for their money with other Bluetooth headphone models.
Technology is making advances at an exponential rate and the developments discussed above only skim the surface of what we can look forward to seeing in 2017. The efficiency that comes from this constant innovation of technology is sure to transform the workplace.
